About Us
PH, Peter Thormählen began his hunting career in 1994. In 2002, Charlie Cochran, a client, approached Peter with a partnership that became Thormählen & Cochran Classic African Safaris. T&C's mission is to serve and provide our international clients a unique Classic African Safari. Thormählen & Cochran’s South African operations are headquartered in Kimberley, Northern Cape Province.
T&C strives to employ only the best and most professional staff members, as well as acquire exclusive hunting rights on excellent hunting concessions. Our Mpumalanga concession, the Mauricedale Game Reserve, keeps producing outstanding trophies, as well as our Natal, North West, Free State, and Limpopo concessions. Our goal is to take excellent care of our clients.

Peter Thormählen was born and raised in South Africa and speaks German, Afrikaans, English, Sotho, Pedi, and Tswana.He served his country for two years of military service, where he became a platoon commander in the then South West African Specialist Forces: Trackers. He graduated in 1989 from the University of the Free State with a Mastersdegree in Soilscience, and later a MBA.He's been hunting ever since. Peter Thormahlen has extensive experience in Dangerous Game Hunting with Cape Buffalo, Elephant & Rhino his main passion. |

Anso Thormahlen was born and raised in South Africa. After graduating from high school Anso went to the University of South Africa (UNISA) where she graduated with a major in Accounting, and went on to complete a Honors degree in Accounting. She later became a Certified Accountant. Anso has been involved in T&C Safaris from the start up of the company, and with her financial guidance T&C Safaris has gone from strength to strength. |

Philip Fourie joined Thormählen & Cochran as Professional Hunter in August 2003. He has extensive experience in hunting Dangerous Game, with leopard & buffalo his speciality, as well as in the hunting of Plains Game. This young man's experience exceeds his age by far, and his young physical looks does unjustice to his abilities as outstanding professional hunter. Philip is a Namibian by birth. In 2008 T&C Safaris Namibia was Established with Philp as one of the shareholders and a Director for the Namibian company. |

T&C Safaris South Africa extended their operation into Namibia due to the high demand from our clients for trophy species native to Namibia: Black Face Impala, Cheetah, Damara Dik-Dik, Leopard & Hartmann (mountain) Zebra as well as Elephant, Lion, Crocodile, Hippopotamus. Wedhapo Investments Pty Ltd (a Black Owned Namibian Company specializing in Tourism, Minerals, Energy & Hunting) was approached by T&C Safaris and a Partnership was formed. Heronimus Witbooi was appointed as Director of T&C Safaris Namibia Pty Ltd representing Wedhapo Investments. This made T&C Safaris one of a few Safari Companies in Namibia being BEE compliant according to the Namibian Government Regulations. Heronimus Witbooi was born in the South of Namibia and his presence is a huge asset for T&C Safaris Namibia Pty Ltd. |

Herman Coetzee grew up in South Africa in the Lowveld of the then Eastern Transvaal; on the border of the Kruger National Park. He completed his professional Hunters exams at the age of sixteen years, but was not allowed to guide clients as the minimum age is twenty one years. Herman did a five year apprenticeship at the legendary Ronnie Rowland, where they extensively hunted buffalo in the Zambezi Valley. In Namibia he was especially involved in numerous leopard hunts, which makes him one of the most experienced buffalo and leopard professional hunters in South Africa. Herman speaks fluent English, Afrikaans, and a native language called Sepedi. T&C Safaris head hunted him for the last three years; his joining of our team of professional hunters is a big asset for our company. |

Paballo Moeketsi joined T&C Sfaris in 1996. He went to the Professional Hunting academy in 2004 and became a professional hunter in 2006 after an extensive two year apprentice period. He has hunted a lot of dangerous and plains game since 1996 working as peter Thormahlen's tracker and then as apprentice professional hunter for the last two years. Paballo speaks nine African languages fluently. |

Erwin Kotze' was born in Rundu Namibia. His parents moved to northern Botswana where he grew up on a farm. Erwin has been hunting professionally since 2006. He joined T&C Safaris Namibia Pty Ltd in 2008 as Master Hunting Guide. In 2009 he became a Professional Hunter and has guided a big number of our Namibian clients on plains game and leopard hunts. He is currently working on his Big 5 license for Namibia. | |

A true master of his art, undoubtly the best skinner I have ever encountered in my wanderings as professional hunter in South Africa as well as other Southern African countries (Outfitter Peter Thormahlen). Ramodiei has been working as skinner for Peter Thormahlen since 1998. He has trained all the skinners currently working for Thormahlen & Cochran Safaris; the term "the Professor" is well earned! |
